Visioni Corte fest in Italy hosting Iran’s ‘Inner Self’

The 2021 edition of the Visioni Corte International Film Festival in Italy has been screening Iranian short flick ‘Inner Self’.

Directed by Mohammad Hormozi, the 15-minute flick is on the competition lineup of the Meridiani section at the 10th edition of the Italian event.

‘Inner Self’ follows the story of a female violinist who wants to enter an office but as she is not attired appropriately for the place, she must stay in the waiting room.

While waiting, the young woman copes with her frustration by composing a new piece.

An unexpected ally is moved by her performance and provides a last-minute solution to the violinist’s predicament.

The short flick won a special mention at the Akbank Short Film Festival in Turkey and the award for best narrative short title at the Fayetteville Film Fest in the US.

‘Inner Self’ has also gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Ojai Film Festival in the US, the International Short Film Festival – Film Front in Serbia, the Taos Shortz Film Fest in the US, the Corti In Cortile – Il Cinema in breve in Italy, the Grand Off film festival in Poland, the Mediawave International Film Festival in Hungary, the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the Santa Fe Film Festival in the US, the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival in Switzerland, and the Washington DC International Film Festival in the US.

The Visioni Corte International Film Festival aims to provide grounds for emerging filmmakers from around the world to showcase their artistic talent. The event is also after combining culture, tourism and filmmaking innovations.

The 2021 edition of the Italian event is being held in Gaeta on September 18-25.
